Understanding Subfertility
Starting a family is an important and often emotional journey for many couples. However, for some, this process may not unfold as quickly or smoothly as they had hoped.
What is Subfertility?
Subfertility is defined as not having fallen pregnant after a certain period of time.
Current guidelines recommend that:
Couples under the age of 35 should seek medical advice if they have not fallen pregnant within 12 months.
For couples over the age of 35, it is recommended to see a doctor after 6 months.
It is important to note that approximately 1 in 6 couples may experience subfertility and may benefit from medical assistance in their journey to parenthood.
